Handmade pottery and pottery classes by a mud enthusiast, Barb Crosbie.  I am a dual degree water quality science major with a serious passion for clay.  When my life took me to Utah, then New York, back to Utah , to Alabama and now back to Utah, the clay stuck.  Along this journey I have worked, studied and taught classes in pottery.  As a potter and teacher I divide my time and work through new ideas systematically, I guess it is the scientist in me.

Maddi began her journey with pottery in high school where she spent hours at the wheel practicing and advancing her of understanding the way clay behaves.  She took these skills and honed them further while working in Alabama, where she began her teaching career in pottery.  Maddi has continued her journey in clay in Utah, where she teaches a number of classes to a range of students in the Earth in Art pottery studio.   She continues to develop her own style, throwing functional houseware and larger decorative and functional pottery.

Outside of the studio, Maddi can be found on the trails with her pups, renovating her home, or spending time with family.

Our mission:

We are an inclusive studio that focuses on building creativity and community

Our niche

We offer classes that range from beginner to mixed skills and advanced classes.  Most of our classes allow students to learn the fundaments of hand building, throwing on the wheel, and glazing.  We also focus on the little things when it comes to finishing and finesse.  For students who are ready to branch out and try new things, our teachers are there to provide assistance and allow for flexibility within their classes.  It is your pottery journey, we are your guides.
